  • You use a lot of devices. MyFitnessPal connects with 40+ apps and devices, including Garmin, Fitbit, Samsung Health, Strava and smart scales.
  • You log on a browser, an iPad or a Wear OS watch. Apex Stacked has none of these.

  • You want a large community. MyFitnessPal has public forums, and its homepage says over 280 million people have joined.
  • You take a GLP-1 medication and want a log built for it. MyFitnessPal has GLP-1 tracking for US users.

Where Apex Stacked is the better pick

  • You want free barcode scanning. In Apex Stacked it is free on every plan. In MyFitnessPal it needs Premium.
  • You lift and want a real workout log in the same app as your food. Set types, rest timer, RIR, supersets, plate calculator and PRs are all free.
  • You want a training week built around your split, schedule, session length and the equipment at each gym, with deload weeks, and no AI. That is Apex Pro at $2.99 a month.
  • You get regular blood tests and want each marker's trend next to your training and food. Manual entry and charts are free.
  • You follow a TRT, peptide or supplement protocol and want a private log with reminders and vial tracking. The app records what you enter. It never suggests doses.
  • You want an AI coach that reads your training, food, sleep and labs, plus meal estimates from a description. That is Pro + AI at $8.99 a month.
  • You want a fasting log, sleep, measurements and mood check-ins on the free plan.
  • You want low-key competitions with friends, scored on showing up rather than on what anyone eats or weighs.

Good to know. Apex Stacked is built around strength training first, with nutrition next to it. If you only want a calorie counter, MyFitnessPal does more on the food side. Apex Stacked is also dark theme only.
