Where Hevy is the better pick

  • You want a social feed. Follow people, like and comment on workouts, browse a Discover feed, and save or copy other people's workouts.
  • You want a large community. Hevy says it has 17+ million gym athletes, and its App Store listing shows a 4.9 rating from 99K ratings.
  • You want ready-made programs. Hevy's routine library has 26 programs and 8 routine categories, and it is free.
  • You train on a browser, an iPad or a Wear OS watch. Apex Stacked has none of these.
  • You use Android outside the US. Apex Stacked on Android is US only for now.
  • You want to pay once. Hevy offers a lifetime Pro option.
  • You want to rank your best lifts against people you follow, or post your workouts to Strava.
  • Your coach uses Hevy Coach to assign workouts.
  • You like planning in ChatGPT. The Hevy app for ChatGPT works with a free Hevy account.

Where Apex Stacked is the better pick

  • You want food in the same app as your training. Calorie and macro tracking, barcode scanning and water logging are free.
  • You get regular blood tests and want each marker's trend next to your training. Manual entry and charts are free.
  • You follow a TRT, peptide or supplement protocol and want a private log with reminders and vial tracking. The app records what you enter. It never suggests doses.
  • You want a training week built around your split, schedule, session length and the equipment at each gym, with deload weeks, and no AI. That is Apex Pro at $2.99 a month.
  • You want an AI coach that reads your training, food, sleep and labs, plus weekly and monthly reports. That is Pro + AI at $8.99 a month.
  • You would rather keep training private. There is no public feed, and competitions are friends only and score showing up, not numbers.
  • You want sleep, measurements, mood check-ins and cycle tracking alongside your lifts, on the free plan.

Good to know. Apex Stacked is dark theme only, and it is built around strength training. It logs cardio, but it is not a running tracker.

Switching from Hevy

You can bring your history with you and keep your Hevy account as it is.

Imported workouts appear in your history and PRs. They don't earn competition points, which count only workouts logged in Apex Stacked.

Questions

Is Apex Stacked a good Hevy alternative if I also want to track nutrition and bloodwork?

Yes, if you want those in the same app as your lifting. Apex Stacked has free calorie and macro tracking with barcode scanning, free manual bloodwork entry with trend charts, and protocol tracking with one active protocol free. If you mainly want a workout log with a social feed and a large community, Hevy is likely the better fit.

Does Hevy track nutrition?

Nutrition tracking is not listed in Hevy's feature list or in its App Store and Google Play descriptions as of October 17, 2026. Hevy does track body weight, body measurements and progress photos. Check Hevy's site for its current features.

Which is cheaper, Hevy or Apex Stacked?

Both start at $2.99 a month in the US. Hevy lists Hevy Pro at $2.99 a month, $23.99 a year or $74.99 for lifetime access. Apex Pro is $2.99 a month or $24.99 a year, and Apex Pro + AI is $8.99 a month with a 7-day free trial. Apex Stacked has no lifetime option. Both have a free plan. Prices are US prices as listed on October 17, 2026 and can vary by region.

Can I move my workout history from Hevy to Apex Stacked?

Usually, yes. Hevy lets you export your workout history as a CSV file. In Apex Stacked, use Import Workout to upload a CSV export from another app or paste a workout, review what was read, then save it. The importer reads general CSV files and matches columns by name. It is not built for any one app's format, so check the review step before you save. Nothing changes in your Hevy account.

Does Apex Stacked have a social feed like Hevy?

No. Apex Stacked has no feed, no chat and no public leaderboard. It has friends-only competitions that run 3 or 7 days and score you on showing up, not on how much you lift. Hevy has a feed of people you follow, a Discover feed, likes and comments, and leaderboards against people you follow.
